Front Triangle Mitering

Front Triangle Mitering

Tonight I mitered the front triangle and setup my frame fixture for Dave Chiu’s cross race bike. It felt great to be in the shop and fabricating. The last few weeks have been spent mostly at Hot Tubes repainting two frames (the NAHBS show bike for sale and Dave Chiu’s cross pit bike from last season). The frame is identical to his primary bike from last season. The Top Tube, Down Tube and Seat Stays are Columbus Zona The Seat Tube and Chain Stays are Columbus Life. His frame from last year was Maietta #033, and this one is #048; I’m pretty anxious to see how my skill has improved over the last 15 frames. Tomorrow night I will completely clean the tubes, weld and align the front triangle. The miters are super tight and I look forward to some nice tiny TIG beads.
