First Coat of Clear

Tonight I painted Dave Chiu’s last name on the top tube of his cross frame and sprayed the first coat of clear. I used PPG’s 2042 clear and shot it pretty heavy over the decals. The next step will be to wet sand the decals smooth (as described in a recent blog post) and re-clear the frame. The second coat of clear will be with PPG 2021 which aids in the ability to create a smooth glass like finish. I am really happy with the way this re-paint is coming out…its going to make a great show piece in the pit this upcoming cross season!
